Description

of squat cylindrical form, painted in bright enamels with boys playing with lotus, flags and ruyi in a fenced garde, the base with an apocryphal Chenghua mark

Condition

The water-pot is in good overall condition with the exception of some restoration around the shoulder to fritting, a circa 1cm., wide area of overpainting to the bottom edge of the side, some fritting around the shoulder, light rubbing to the iron-red decoration, some minor firing imperfections including iron-spot glaze imperfections, pinhead-sized glaze holes and light glaze scratches.
