Description
each lower body of globular form rising from a short straight foot to the upper globular bulb with tapering narrow neck, freely painted around the exterior with scaly five-clawed dragon in pursuit of flaming pearls, all amidst fire and cloud scrolls and within wave, lotus and geometric bands
Condition
The vases are in fair overall overall condition with the exception of: (to one) a circa 20cm., long three-pointed hairline rim crack which curls down and around the upper body and an associated 1cm., bruise to the rim and a small flake to the body, a 5cm., hairline rim crack, a 5mm., diam., glaze flake to the side of the lower body; (To both) light rubbing to the iron-red decoration, some minor firing imperfections including iron-spot glaze imperfections, pinhead-sized glaze holes and light glaze scratches.
