Description

the box with shallow rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot, moulded around the exterior with a leafy scroll, the domed cover similarly moulded and covered overall with an ice-blue glaze, 15cm., 6in; together with a small ribbed box and cover; and a lobed circular box and cover moulded with to the top with a peony

Condition

left on catalogue image: In overall good condition with some discoloration to the craquelure. center on catalogue image: The box is in good condition, showing some minor wear to the moulded areas of the glaze. Negligible nibbles along the outer rim, and two chips on the inner rim, the largest 6 mm. Some glaze degradation on approximately half of the cover, with associated glaze and hairline cracks. Very minor iron spots. right on catalogue image: The inner rim has one semi-circular restored chip 1.2 cm, with an associated hairline crack extending toward the foot, and a 5 cm horizontal hairline crack. The cover with a firing flaw on top and scattered kiln grit. In otherwise good condition.
