Description

the body of slightly compressed globular form, the domed cover with pie-crust rim and surmounted by a simple button knop, covered overall in a white glaze, 8cm., 3 1/8 in; together with a white-glazed globular jar, and a jar and cover incised around the exterior with a geometric swirl

Condition

The jar and cover: Jar is in good condition overall with minor kiln grit and very shallow old chip to the rim. The cover with a chip on the rim 0.4 cm wide. Note the additional provenance: Frank Caro successor to C.T. Loo, A-1487(according to label). The globular jar: In good overall condition with a firing flaw 1 cm just below the mouth causing a slight warpage in that area. One iron spot on the body. The white jar and cover with patterned exterior: In good overall condition, tiny and negligible chip to rim. Cover with a series of nibbles and chips on rim, affecting approximately 1/4 of the diameter.
