Description

the U-shaped body rising from a short spreading foot, freely carved around the exterior with a leafy lotus spray and covered overall with a translucent ivory-white glaze, save for the base of the interior, 12.3cm., 4 7/8 in; together with a 'Ding' 'lotus' dish, Song Dynasty

Condition

bowl: In good overall condition with a shallow chip on the rim 4 mm. Minor kiln grit to interior and pinpricks on exterior. dish: The interior well is slightly warped and raised on one section. Kiln grit on base. Small chip to the rim, which appear to be original to the firing as it is under the glaze. Surface scratches throughout.
