Description

of shallow U-shape with widely flaring rim, the light brown horn carved in relief around the exterior with a leafy fruiting grapevine, each side with a small bushy-tailed squirrel, the interior carved to suggest overlapping leaves with a small butterfly resting on one of them, attached with a screw to a fitted wooden stand similarly carved with fruiting grapevine 

Condition

The cup is in fair overall condition with the exception of loss of the handle and an associated V-shaped (2.5 x1cm) section of the rim, a tiny open crack (ca. 0.3cm) to one side, some cracks running through the material and the base has been drilled and attached to the wood stand by a screw.
