Description

each of globular form rising from a concave base to a short straight neck, set at the shoulder with four lug handles and covered overall in an olive-green glaze, 8.5cm., 3 3/8 in; together with a similar jar incised around the shoulder with geometric bands, and a water pot of compressed globular form

Condition

Left on catalogue image: There is glaze degradation around the mouth and handles. Scattered iron spots. Craquelure and kiln grit to interior. One deep chip to the base 0.5 cm wide. The actual color is greener than the image suggests. Center-left on catalogue image: There is a long, dark glaze running down the body, starting at midway on the body and ending just above the foot, 4.3 cm long. A smaller dark-color glaze just above this at 0.5 cm. Craquelure throughout, with scattered minor iron spots. Small chips to foot, 0.3 cm. The actual color is greener than the image suggests. Center-right on catalogue image: Kiln grit on the surface, some causing craquelure. Minor fritting to lip. Kiln adhesion on areas of body. Right on catalogue image: Old chips to foot. Section of mouth rim restored approximately 2.5 cm.
