Description

the gently rounded sides rising from a short flat base to a straight neck and broad everted rim, incised around the exterior with geometric bands and covered overall with an olive-green glaze, 18cm., 7 1/8 in; together with a similarly glazed whistle, a circular box and cover and a compressed globular water pot

Condition

Basin: Good overall condition, with very minor nibbles along the rim and an area of glaze near the foot is brittle. Some light surface abrasion and a short scratch on interior well. whistle: Hairline cracks and craquelure, with one consistent crack along the diameter of the bottom, though it does not appear to have been fully broken as no repairs were visible via UV light. Pitting, dry glaze and kiln grit throughout. small water pot: Very minor chips on rim, old chips on foot, glaze a bit dry and parts flaking. box and cover: Kiln grit on foot and rim of box. Fine condition overall.
