Description

of flattened ogee section, painted to each face with a large panel enclosing a scholar and assistant in a garden under a pine tree and a lady seated with two children under a pine tree, above a smaller shaped panel of retreats amongst trees in a mountainous river landscape, all reserved on a raised dot turquoise-ground with flowers, with a thin band of diaper in underglaze-blue at the foot and below the rim

Condition

There is a 2.5cm by 1cm chip to the underside of the foot, with a related 1.5cm by 0.5cm shallow chip to the side of the foot. There is also kiln grit adhered to the foot. There is rubbing to the gilding at the rim.
