Description
the bald ascetic wrapped in flowing robes and seated with one leg tucked beneath and hidden but for the protruding knee, and the other knee bent upright to support the clasped hands, both hidden in the flowing sleeves of the robes, the body swathed in long cascading folds but for the chest left bare, and further draped with a long beaded rosary, the details of the face finely carved, with stippled beard and the bulging eyes set in a fierce and intensely devout stare
Condition
The figure is in good overall condition with the exception of a hairline firing line to the side of the left arm ( 2cm.), characteristic firing cracks to the interior of the base (not visible externally), a 5mm flake to the tip of the robe (far right side), some minor firing imperfections including iron-spot glaze imperfections and light glaze scratches.
