Description
the rectangular plate finely painted with two elegant ladies dressed in formal robes, one seated on rockwork under a tree beside a basket of flowers and a dog, the other standing behind her, on a river bank with retreats on the far bank in a mountainous river landscape, contemporary pierced and carved gilt-wood frame
Condition
This finely painted reverse glass painting has been examined in its frame and is in very good overall condition with the exception of characteristic heavy oxidation to the mirror/sky area. The plate extends behind the frame and measures approximately 48 by 78cm.. The 18th Century gilt-wood frame is in good overall condition with the exception of small areas of re-gilding.
