A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS QING DYNASTY QIANLONG MARK AND PERIOD, DATED 1770

dressed as a bodhisattva seated in dhyanasana upon a square base borne at the corners by stylized vajra with scrolled terminals, the hands in dhyanamudra supporting a vase, adorned with high foliate crown, earrings and pectoral, with a cascading cloth falling at the front above the reign mark dated Qianlong gengyin jingzao 19cm., 7 1/2 in.; together with a small copper Buddha sitting in on a double lotus base, the base inscribed nan wu bao yueming fo; and three gilt-copper repousse wall panel fragments 

From a European noble family acquired in China in 1900 and hence in the family by descent.
