Description

the tapering shallow sides rising from a flat base to an everted lipped gilt rim and all supported on four ruyi-shaped legs issuing from monster masks, brightly enamelled around the exterior with a floral mon band reserved on a sgraffiato blue ground and divided by a pair of dragon headed handles, the interior with floral sprays on a green ground

Condition

This basin is in good condition, but does have some scratching and wear to the interior. There is a 1.5cm diameter area of rubbed enamel to the centre of the interior. There is some wear to the enamel on the underside of the feet. There has been some re-touching to the gilding on the rim, handles and masks to the feet.
