Description

the old sage carved standing holding a staff in his left hand and wearing a long robe, carved in high relief around his body are young children at play, one climbing his staff holding a fruiting peach spray, another at his shoulder holding a large lotus leaf, and others at his feet, the wood patinated to a rich honey tone

Condition

The carving is in good overall condition with the exception of a small area of restoration to the top of the staff, minor nicks and nibbles to the extremities of the carving and light hairline age cracks to the top of his head.
