Description

the body of compressed globular form supported on three short conical feet, the short neck with everted rim set with a pair of loop handles, decorated overall with small irregular gold splashes, the base with an apocryphal six-character Xuande-mark within a square

Provenance

From a private European collection. Acquired in London in the 1960s.

Condition

The censer is in good overall condition with the exception of some wear and light scratches predominantly around the waist of the body and a 4mm., casting plug again to the waist.
