each body with slightly tapering six-lobed sides rising from six ruyi-shaped feet to an everted broad rim, finely carved around the exterior to each lobe with a shaped panel variously enclosing fruiting sprays, flowers and lingzhi reserved on a dense floret diaper ground, all supported on a similarly lobed stand carved around the apron with scrolling foliage between key-fret bands at the rim and shaped stretcher, metal liners
Condition
The jardinieres: One has two significant splits in two places and has damage to the lacquer to the interior and exterior at the corner of the base (3cm by 2cm area). There is also a chip to the lacquer to one foot. The other has a split to the side and a large damaged area around one foot (7cm by 4cm) and chips to the lacquer of two other feet.
The stands: One has a chipe to the top surface to the key fret border (2.5cm by 1cm) and both have been restored, where the upper part of the stand of each has come away from their supports.
