Description

the beast powerfully carved seated on its haunches, the head with large bulbous eyes and a curly mane looking down at its playful cub secured by its right paw, all surmounted on a high stepped pedestal base partially supported by two crouching male figures and carved in low relief with floral bands

Condition

There are surface abrasions, as expected for its age. The bottom of the rear proper right corner of the pedestal has a significant chip. Shallow chips and nibbles to the edges of the pedestal rim, mostly negligible. There is minor surface wear to the nose and whorls on the hair.
