Description
each of rectangular form, the one enamelled with a pavilion in a mountainous river landscape, artists signature, seal and colophon, the other enamelled with a crane before an old gnarled pine tree, artists signature and seal, wood frames
Condition
As illustrated: both panels are in good overall condition with the exception of a small chip to the top left hand corner of the left plaque, and light rubbing and glaze scartches to both. It should be noted that the enamels are of a slightly stronger tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.

Wang Yeting (1884-1942) and Wang Xiaotang (1918-2000) were both destined to become famous fencai painters of the Republic period; Wang Yeting being a founder member of the Zhu Shan Ba You, the 'Eight Friends of Zhushan', and Wang Xiaotang painting the official porcelain of Yuan Shikai.
