Description

each lobed ovoid body rising from a short recessed base to a tall broad waisted neck flanked by a pair of lion and cub gilt handles, brightly enamelled around the exterior with rectangular panels variously enclosing court scenes and flowers reserved on a dense floral and gilt ground

Condition

This pair of Canton Famille Rose vases are in good condition. There is rubbing to the gilding in areas of the lion handles and on the rims. There is also some iron-red rubbing to the rims. There is a 5 mm crack to one tail of one Lion handle and a 1.5 cm glaze irregularity to the same area.
