Description

of globular form with broad everted rim, boldly decorated around the exterior with iron-red and black fish swimming amidst water weeds reserved on a rich underglaze-blue ground, the interior glazed white, metal stand

Condition

The bowl is in very good condition with the exception of a circa 2cm., diam., blister to the rim and associated large frit, flaking to the interior around the hole to the base, minor rubbing and loss to the gilding around the exterior, light glaze scratching and minor glaze firing imperfections including burst glaze bubbles and iron-spot impurities.
