Description

each of gu shape, brightly enamelled around the high spreading foot and tall trumpet neck with birds amidst blossoming peony and prunus sprays, divided by the central bulb scattered with flower sprays

Condition

The one vase has extensive restoration to the upper neck; the base has a four-pointed star crack extending approximately 14.5cm. across the base. The other vase has restoration to rim chipping and an associated 8.5cm. hairline crack. The base has a 11.5cm firing crack and the base restored. It should be noted that the enamels are slightly brighter and stronger in tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
