the finely potted ovoid body set to one side with a large loop handle and to the other with an elegant S-shaped spout, brightly enamelled and gilt overall with lotus strapwork reserved on a rich turquoise ground, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a lotus-bud finial

The teapot is in very good overall condition with the exception of a tiny restored chip to the underside of the tip of the spout, a hairline glaze line to the side of the base of the spout, two tiny areas of misfired enamel between the base of the spout and body and to the side of the base of the spout, minor glaze scratches and light rubbing to the gilding around the edge of the rim on the cover. There is an area of residue left from old cellotape on the cover and the body, that can be cleaned.
