Catalogue Note
Based on the splendid 'lotus bouquet' design found on Yongle dishes, it is unusual to find an eighteenth century dish of this pattern with a Yongzheng reign mark. A closely related dish of Yongzheng mark and period is illustrated in Soame Jenyns, Later Chinese Porcelain, London, 1951, pl. XIX, fig. 2. Compare two dishes sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 20th May 1986, lot 42, and the other from the R. I. Cherridge collection, 20th May 1987, lot 441; and a third example sold at Christie's New York, 1st June 1990, lot 248, and again, 10th April 2006, lot 1688.
