Description

comprising a censer and cover, the body of compressed globular form and finely carved in low relief with archaistic taotie-masks, with two dragon handles issuing a curled body applied to the shoulders, the domed cover with an openwork crouching dragon handle encircled by a band of ruyi-shaped petals and archaistic taotie-masks; a circular box and cover similarly embellished with a band of archaistic taotie-masks around a central twisted rope motif; a small vase of slender form set with a pair of lug handles, the body finely carved with a pair archaistic taotie-masks, a band of ruyi-shaped petals below the lipped rim

Condition

This lapis lazuli incense set is in good condition though there are some flaws running through the interior base of the censer.
