Description

finely carved seated with ample stomach and loose-fitting robe, his face with broad smile and framed by a pair of long pendulous earlobes, around him in high relief play eight small boys, the wood patinated to a rich honey tone  

Condition

Generally good conditon, has several splits to the back, four of which are wider and each 3.5cm long. There is also a 2cm split at the base of the right side and two to the front at the base, one near Budai's right foot 2.5cm long and one 2.5cm to the left leg of the left figure. There is also some surface wear and scratches to the underside of the base.
