Description

of archaistic hu form, the pear-shaped body rising from a short straight foot to a tall broad neck, finely inlaid around the exterior in silver wire with two broad taotie mask bands between simple scroll bands, set at the shoulder with a pair of taotie mask handles suspending loose rings, 11.5cm., 4 1/2 in; together with a silver and gold inlaid bronze censer, gui, wood cover and stand

Condition

Silver-inlaid bronze vase: areas underneath both ring handles slightly rubbed and matte. Overall good condition. Silver-inlaid bronze: a tiny casting flaw to the rim of the foot (ca. 0.2cm). Silver inlay to handles very slightly rubbed. Overall good condition.
