A CLOISONNE ENAMEL JAR QING DYNASTY, KANGXI PERIOD

of broad baluster form, the body decorated with a writhing dragon with deep blue scales and a mottled pink spine in pursuit of a large flaming pearl on the reverse, all on a turquoise ground with an overall design of lingzhi, the multi-coloured  heads born on fleshy dark green stems among dense foliate scrolls, above a band of lappets encircling  the base and a border of ruyi-shaped head around the wide rim of the mouth, with gilt-bronze dragon-mask handles set on the shoulders

This jar is generally in good condition, but does have enamel shrinkage and chips to the dark blue enamel in several places, to the head of the dragon 3cm by 1cm, and three of the claws. There is rubbing to the gilding on the handles, rim and footrim and to the gilding in the interior.
