each brightly enamelled to the interior with a large medallion enclosing scenes from literature of military figures engaged in battle, encircled at the rim by six ruyi-shaped panels enclosing auspicious emblems and reserved on alternating cash and floral diaper bands, the exterior glazed white
Condition
As illustrated: The dish on the right has two hairline rim cracks (5 and 6cm., long), rim fritting and nibbles, minor shallow flakes to the bottom of the footring, light glaze scratches and minor glaze firing imperfections including tiny blisters, iron-spots and burst air bubbles. The dish on the left has a 5cm., long hairline rim crack, rim fritting and nibbles, small areas of misfiring to the blue enamel, glaze scratches and minor glaze firing imperfections including tiny blisters, iron-spots and burst air bubbles in particular to the underside. Otherwise both dishes are in fair overall condition with the enamels being particularly bright and well preserved.
