Description

finely carved in the form of a mountain, the front face depicting a sage and his young attendant walking along a craggy path towards a bridge crossing a waterfall, on the other side a boy on a buffalo heads towards them, all beneath old gnarled pine trees, jagged rocks and swirling mist engulfing a pavilion in the peaks, the stone of celadon tone with a russet skin predominantly to the rear

Condition

The boulder is in very good overall condition and it should be noted that it is of a darker olive-green tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
