Description

naturalistically carved in high relief to one end with a long leafy stalk curling around the fruit, to the top and side clamber three large bushy-tailed squirrels, one forming the knop of the oval cover, the stone of pale celadon tone with russet inclusions

Condition

There are three very tiny (ca. 0.1cm) chips to the rim of the opening. There is a small calcified area (ca. 1cm) among the russet tone patch visible in the illustration. The carving is of overall good condition. The colour of the jade is of a slightly more celadon tone than the illustration suggests.
