Description

the body of baluster form rising from a short spreading foot to a tall tapering neck with everted straight rim, naturalistically carved in high relief around the exterior with two archaistic dragon pendants tied with ribbons and swags of silk, the stone of pale celadon-white tone, gilt-bronze mount for lamp  

Condition

This rare vase is in good overall condition with the exception of a 7mm., wide chip to the lower edge of the ribbon beneath the handle (as illustrated), minor nibbles to the edge of some ribbons, a 1mm., wide shallow chip to the edge of the rim, and milky-white opaque inclusions, one running vertically through the body and some small areas to the lower body and foot. The vase would originally have had a cover.
