Description

naturalistically carved and hollowed, the ripe fruit borne on a leafy gnarled branch forming the foot, to the side stands a long-tailed phoenix resting against a hollowed section of bamboo, the stone of pale celadon tone with russet skin, carved wood stand

Condition

The carving is in good overall condition with the exception of a nick to the edge of one petal to the rear, and possible loss to the tip of one tail feather. It should be noted that the stone is of a slightly darker celadon tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
