Description

each with shallow curved sides rising from a short tapering base to a broad everted rim, painted in rich cobalt-blue tones to the interior with a floral medallion encircled by lotus lappet panels enclosing floral sprays and reserved on a dense diaper ground, the rim with four large peacocks divided by ogee-shaped panels enclosing baskets of pomegranates, all reserved on a dense leafy floral scroll ground, the exterior with ribbon-tied auspicious emblems

Condition

Generally in good condition, the blue is slightly darker to one than the other. Both with several areas of fritting to the rim, the darker coloured one with more fritting and a shallow 3cm chip to the footrim, the other has several shallow chips to the footrim. Each with some glaze pitting and inconsistencies to the interiors.
