Description

the body of globular form rising from a short straight base to a tall flaring neck and inverted rim, set at the shoulder with a mamiform spout, painted around the exterior in rich cobalt-blue tones with six rectangular panels variously enclosing flowers and auspicious emblems divided by thin geometric panels, all below a floral medallion and diaper collar, the neck with a stiff plantain leaf band 

Condition

The kendi is in good overall condition with the exception of heavy glaze scratching and rubbing around the body and swelling section of the neck, fritting around the swelling section of the neck, fritting to the rim, a 9mm., diam., flake to the edge of the rim, nibbles to the tip of the spout, a frit to the mamiform section of the spout, minor glaze firing imperfections and a short firing line to the base of the footring.
