Description
of rectangular straight-sided form raised on a stepped base moulded with a ruyi-shaped apron, freely painted in rich cobalt-blue tones to the front and back with a pair of five-clawed dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl and at either end with a full-faced dragon, all amidst fire and cloud scrolls
Condition
The box is in good overall condition with the exception of a small reduction to the rim, a 3cm., long firing line to one corner, two 8cm., firing hairlines extending across the base, a 7cm., long hairline crack to one end of the box, a 6cm., long firing line extening over the edge of the foot, short glaze lines to the interior and exterior, minor glaze pulls and frits to the edges, and glaze scratches.
