the tapering rectangular curved body cast in high relief to the top face with two bears amidst C-shaped scrolls and inset with three turquiose roundels, the hook itself issuing from a bear head and terminating in an animal head, the reverse set with a stud for attachment

This well cast garment hook is in very good overall condition with the exception of light rubbing to the gilding on the extremities, small gilt flakes and rubbing to the shaft, and a small hole to the central turquoise roundel. The reverse has a characteristic light patina of malachite encrustation.
