Description

each rectangular panel finely and deeply carved to the front face with figures in a garden, variously seated on rocks or standing in groups conversing beneath trees, with mountains engulfed in swirling mist in the distance, the reverse lacquered black

Condition

Panel 1: Generally good condition, has a small 5mm x 3mm chip to the lower edge and a 12mm x 2mm area of lacquer loss and retouching to the central right edge. Panel 2: Generally good, but has a 2.5cm x 4mm chip to the right edge. There is a 3cm vertical crack to the upper left section and an area of damage and restoration to the top left corner. Panel 3: Generally good condition, with a 2.5cm x 6mm restored chip to the centre top edge. There are two areas of wear 2.5cm and 2cm to two areas of rock work to lower left and centre. Panel 4: Good condition, has a few areas of wear to the figures and rockwork. Panel 5: Generally good condition, but does have several areas of chipped lacquer to the right edge and one 5mm x 3mm to the upper left edge. There are several areas of wear to the figures and rockwork. There are also areas of chipped lacquer to the top right and left corners. Panel 6: Generally good condition but has a 2cm x 3cm chip to the lacquer on the left upper edge. There is also a 2.3cm x 4mm repaired chip to the centre top edge.
