of ovoid form with loose ring handles flanking the neck, carved in relief on one side with a phoenix standing on a rock, the reverse with a bird perched on a branch of blossoming prunus, the stone of white tone streaked with bright green, the domed cover surmounted by a chrysanthemum finial, together with a serpentine phoenix supporting a vase and cover on its back, linked to a chain handle, the stone of chartreuse tone with white inclusions, stand (not illustrated)

There is a small shallow chip on the mouth. There are a few fissures which come through to the surface. There is an oval hole at the base which may have been used for a fitted stand. There are a few minor chips. The overall condition of this piece is very good. The actual color of the piece is more yellow than illustrated in the catalogue.
