Description

of rectangular section with tapering sides resting on four splayed ruyi-shaped feet, flanked at the shoulder by a pair of loop handles each surmounded by a recumbent ram and suspending a loose ring, the wide sides with a pair of addorsed stylised birds divided by a pair of animal mask handles suspending rings, the narrow sides with a pair of confronting stylised birds, reserved on a finely carved leiwen ground, accented at the corners with semi-circular handles, with a band of lappets around the base and shoulder, the stone of a pale celadon tone with some white mottling

Condition

There is a tiny nibble to the ear of one ram, and tiny nibbles to the rim. Otherwise the piece is in very good condition overall. There is some natural fissures to the stone of the interior of the vessel.
