Description

the deep rounded sides resting on three large unguiform feet emerging from ferocious beast heads, the body carved around the sides with archaisitic dot motifs, flanked at the sides by a pair of finely carved openwork handles suspending loose rings, each comprising a pair of sinuous dragons contending a 'flaming pearl', the cover carved with archaistic scrolls and set with an elaborately carved finial decorated with five foliate loop handles suspending loose rings and surmounted by a writhing dragon, the stone of a pure, even white tone

Condition

The censer is in good condition with just one miniscule chip to the left protruding eyebrow of a beast head at a leg, barely noticeable. The cover with approximately four small chips to the edges of the rim (where it has contact with the censer), the largest a triangular-shape approximately 3 mm wide.
