finely carved in the round in the form of a recument crane nestling beside its young, both birds well detailed with overlapping wing and ruffled tail feathers, perching on two legs with sharp talons, each grasping in its beak a leafy branch laden with large, ripe peaches rendered in openwork, the stone of pale celadon tone with an area of brown inclusions to the reverse

Overall the present piece is in very good condition. There are natural inclusions to the reverse which have been cleverly used to enhance the carving.
