Catalogue Note
Yongzheng vases with this design are quite rare and the painting technique is more fluid and less stiff than by comparison Qianlong versions of the same decoration, which are slightly more common. Compare a very similar Qianlong vase sold in these rooms 17th May 1988, lot 188 and again 26th October 2003, lot 138. Also see a Qianlong vase of this form but painted with different flower scrolls and with stiff leaves on the neck, sold in our London rooms, 24th July 1973, lot 316.
