Description
the central compressed globular body bulb delicately painted in falangcai enamels with two oval panels bordered with roccoco acanthus scrolls, each depicting a scene of a mother and child in a hilly landscape with parts of a castle emerging in the distance, reserved on a lime-green lotus scroll between a ruby-red border of meandering tendrils and a band of mutli-coloured lappets, flanked at the sides by a pair of gilt phoenix handles, the tall trumpet neck with a dense lotus scroll above a band of upright gilt leaves, the splayed pedestal foot issuing interlinking foliate motifs reserved on a bright yellow ground, the interior enamelled in pale turquoise-blue, inscribed on the base with the four-character mark in blue-enamel

Condition
One handle has broken off and has been restuck and repainted. The foot has been restored and rebuilt. There are occasional expected surface scratches, and small losses to the enamel. There is characteristic pitting throughout.
