each with deep rounded sides painted on the exterior with the bajixiang ('Eight Buddhist Emblems') arranged in four pairs tied together with a ribbon, set between an iron-red key fret border around the rim and linked ruyi heads skirting the foot, stands, inscribed on the base with the six-character mark in underglaze-blue
