Description
based on archaic bronze form, the body of rectangular section swelling around the middle and tapering at the neck, the belly moulded on two sides with a slightly raised circle, the neck flanked by a pair of rectangular lug handles, covered overall in a claret coloured glaze thinning at the edges to reveal the white body and pooling in the furrows, the glaze further accented with patches of milky sky-blue glaze drizzling down the shoulders, the base inscribed with a six-character reign mark beneath a brown glaze, wooden stand

Formerly in a Japanese Collection.
Condition
There are minor glaze chips to the foot, with two shallow chips in the same area, the largest approximately 1 cm. There is minor fritting to the mouth. Small areas of thin surface scratches and very minor kiln grit on the body. In otherwise good condition.
