Description

circulaire à hauts rebords sur quatre pieds en forme de ruyi, le pourtour recouvert uniformément d'une belle glaçure rouge sang-de-boeuf s'affinant au rebord, le fond percé de deux trous de drainage, sur un plateau en suite à couverte similaire sang-de-boeuf sur quatre pieds ruyi, l'intérieur et la base émaillés blanc avec marque zhuanshu Yongzheng à six caractères dans un double cercle en bleu sous couverte

Condition

The overall condition is very good with only minor fritting along the edges of the base and foot that have been repainted on both the tray and the flowerpot. The flowerpot also has 2 minute burst air bubble on the side and a few scattered small iron spots to the rim and on the interior. Please note that the numbering on the illustration in the catalogue are swaped, lot 169 is the jardinière to the left on the photograph and lot 168 is the jardinière to the right.

A similar copper-red glazed flowerpot and stand, but resting on a straight foot, and each with a four-character Yongzheng mark written in similar archaic seal script, is in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in Catalog of the Special Exhibition of K'ang-hsi, Yung-cheng and Chien'lung Porcelain ware from the Ch'ing Dynasty, Taipei, 1986, pl.35.  Also see a blue-glazed flowerpot and stand; the flowerpot with a straight foot, and the stand with scrolling feet, with a similar six-character seal mark, ibid., pl.53.  Compare a related blue-glazed flowerpot stand with four ruyi-shaped feet, illustrated ibid., pl.55.
