44 volumes, 4to (9  5/8  x 7  1/2  in.; 243 x 190 mm).  Approximately 1270 engraved plates including frontispiece portrait, 12 folding maps, 4 folding tables, 2 folding handcolored ornithological plates, mostly by Jacques de Sève, père et fils, numerous engraved vignettes, occasional manuscript notes in a neat 18th-century hand interleaved in some volumes.  Contemporary mottled calf, spines gilt in six compartments and with morocco lettering-pieces, covers ruled in gilt, marbled endpapers, edges stained in red; condition varies some, but most volumes in good condition.
