Document signed twice, 70 pages (13 3/4 x 9 7/8 in.; 350 x 252 mm) on 35 quired bifolia, written in a neat clerical hand in facing pages of Spanish and English, Washington, 9 February 1848, countersigned by the Peruvian Minister to the United States, Don Joaquim José de Osma, Buchanan and Osma's signatures sealed with wax and ribbons. Quires stab-sewn with ribbon (broken), gilt edges; first (blank) page soiled, some short marginal tears and splits.
