Catalogue Note

This fair copy differs slightly from the version given in The Variorum Edition of the Poems of W. B. Yeats (ed. Allt and Alspach).  The poem was first published in The Green Helment and Other Poems (1910).  Pound's annotation reads, "Mss. of W. B. Yeats.  EP."

with: Yeats.  TLS, 1 page, Riversdale, Dublin, 3 January 1938, to Walter de la Mare, with six words in ink.  Matted, glazed and framed.

"I thank you for your telegram telling that you had found the drawings for the Yogi positions.  I have cabled the contents to Purohit Swami.  Would you please until further notice send any money received for the sale of the UPANISHADS ... in the name of Shree Purohit Swami  .... The photograph of Swami and myself to which I object was taken on ship-board by Mrs. Foden on our way to Majorca.  I have some recollection of some photograph taken by somebody else in front of a villa at Majorca.  If you could get those there is a very charming photograph of Swami alone by himself of which he may have a copy."
