  • front of base mounted with silvered plaque 'Lighter than Air, Ada May, by F. Preiss' and verso of gilt base inscribed '315R CK/./'

  • 1ft 1¾in.
cold-painted bronze, ivory, glass, onyx and marble base, modelled as a young dancer holding a ball over her head

Condition

An elegant sculpture of good overall appearance. Ivory slightly creamier in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. Ivory in general good condition. Glass ball with crackling and minor losses to the finish, as the catalogue illustration shows. Some scratches to the gilt base, her left leg slightly loose. A good example of the model, ready for display. Please note that this lot contains ivory which may be subject to export and import restrictions. For example, ivory cannot be imported into the United States. Your attention is drawn to the Endangered Species section in the Guide for Prospective Buyers at the back of the catalogue (Section 4).
